Preparing young people for employment in the 21st century

We work with schools, employers and other organisations to bring learning opportunities to young people that develop their work related and life skills.  Leeds EBP is part of Leeds City Council and holds the IEBE’s Award for Education Business Excellence.  We are a traded service to schools.

For schools we offer a range of high quality skills development activities and resources for young people that will meet your work related learning agenda.  We also offer CPD and networking events for teachers.

For employers we offer a range of free services that support your Corporate Responsibility aims.  These include volunteering opportunities in education activities with young people, networking events with teachers and links to Leeds schools.  Leeds EBP will also design, promote and run bespoke education events and competitions for employers seeking high quality sponsorship opportunities that raise their profile in the Leeds community.

For local authorities outside Yorkshire we offer

Interactive event that supports schools’ CEIAG agenda

Leeds EBP is delivering the Interactive Workplace event at Allerton High School on 12th October 2011.  The aim is to help young people to make the right decisions around career choices, raise their aspirations and to get the message across that enterprise skills such as team working, decision making, creativity and problem solving are important skills to develop in school and are as valuable as academic qualifications.

The event involves 12 major businesses from across the city and allows students to have short, high quality interactive sessions with 6 pre-selected employers.

The Interactive Workplace event was piloted in March this year and was a great success; Janet Harness from City of Leeds School brought students to the pilot and said

I felt our students gained invaluable knowledge regarding the employment market.  They had the chance to talk to employers regarding the required skills in the workplace.  Overall, the event was a great insight into the world of work and a chance to improve motivation and confidence, whilst having fun!

If your school would like to find out more about this event see our Brochure in the Schools section of the website or contact Christine Marsden on 0113 247 6851, email Christine.marsden2@leeds.gov.uk
